Since some days I'm a teacher. English grammar and Literature teacher. It's really interesting and lovely. Before I knew that I will enjoy it, and how much I am.
In general the kids are really good and there's no problems of disciplne at all. Sometimes even I don't tell them to make an exercise but they do it anyway. The previus day I prepare my lessons so there's no too much improvisation.
Just the first five minutes were difficult because of my totally inexperience and some nervius that I had. But the passed and all was nice.
Yesterday I got a good ahnce to give a nice lesson. Waht's about poetry. They have good predisposition for poetry,it's even amazing. Me at their age wasunable to do something like they do with poetry. But they didn't have at all idea about form in poetry. They wrote a poem because instead of write prose they were writing verses. So I tought them stilistic recurses, metric, rhythm and I tried make them think to do metaphores and similes.
At the end of the lesson, the last five minutes I made an experiment. I have seen it in "The death poets club" of Robin Williams, a movie that I love. And it worked. I orden some of them to walk in circles together. The result was teh perfect to teach them my philosophy. That were are special individuals, that we live in society, but that we are human beings and no robots. The result was that after some time they were walking at the same path, when at the beginnig they were walking diferently. The surrender to the average as everyone of us in the society.
So I explain them that we are unique and specials, that they are not just students and they will not be just workers or possessors of houses or cars. That everyone of us is a mix of feelings, sensations, remains, fears illusions and dreams. That in art they canfind away to express themselves unique, in poetry, literautre, painting, music or sculture. That don't have to be afraid of express following their dreams just in fear of don't be normal and tipic or ideal or perfect. I didn't feel like tellinf them to copy that elsson in the copy note to keep it and read it when they were on traubles, so I just suggest it.
Their homework is, in one week time, a realpoem, with rhythm, metric and eveything, without anyrestriction of contents, just with rules to help to create the form andget the beauty of the poetry.
